Drake & Charlotte's Birthday Party

I'm still in catch-up mode, and came across these photos from Drake's 3rd & Charlotte's 1st Birthday Party this summer!

These kids are insatiable and the party was beautiful, so I had to share...

taken: August 10, 2013
The Drake aka Birthday boy.

Tammy did a great job with the cakes and all the decorations, it was very cute!
Aren't those cakes sweet? Ombre!

We sang "Happy Birthday," Drake blew out his candles...

and we all watched with big smiles on our faces!
Charlotte was so excited to eat her birthday cake.
It was slow going at the beginning - I don't know if she really liked it, but once the sugar set in, she was all in!
Next up, presents!!
Oh... my... goodness... these kids made out like bandits :)
Diving in after the loot...
Charlotte had so much to look at, I think she had a great time soaking it all it.
I love that she chose Dumbo to hone in on.
Harper, Colton & Jack were big helpers with the presents...
and Jason made Drake a holster for a little pistol.  It was awesome!
YESSS!!!
Monsters INC!!
This cracks me up.
We all had such a fun time - it was a great party!

After nearly 5 months have passed, you too can enjoy all the pictures!!
You appreciate it more when you have to wait for it, right? ;) suuuurrreeee...

lots of love, CB

p.s. I was having some very serious problems with my camera - so much so that it totally stopped working shortly after this party!  Turns out a part of my favorite lens ("the nifty 50" or the "plastic fantastic" - Canon Fixed 50mm) actually broke off inside the body of the camera and stopped me from being able to do all sorts of great stuff... primarily focus a shot.  It has been out of commission for the past 4-5 months and I just got it repaired, so now we're back in business!  My computer is up and running, and the camera should be fine so HOPEFULLY, the next round of pictures shouldn't take 5 months to post!

Tammy's Sprinkle

I don't know if you know this about me, but I love to throw parties...
All the things I love: stationary, decorating, gift giving, food, wine and happy people.
There's just nothing better!

When I found out my sister Tammy was expecting baby #2, the first question I asked her was "when do you want to have the baby shower?"   So this weekend, we hosted a sprinkle... a "light" shower for her little lady Charlotte Mae.

 Isn't my Tammy a beauty?

There were delicious desserts and nibbles for everyone to enjoy...

The guest list was very intimate - mostly family and close friends.
It made for comfortable conversation and ample time to catch up.

We got to watch our our boys play...

...and we shared the day with women that we love.

It was beautiful and I am so pleased with how everything turned out.
Miss Charlotte will be joining us on August 1st, 2012
 I can't wait!

Have Yourself a Bluebell Country Day...

Today we drove out to Brehnam, Texas to visit the Bluebell Ice Cream factory. It was wooonderful.  Seriously, icecream may be God's greatest invention.
Travis and Drake really seemed to enjoy themselves!

Before we had dessert we wanted to have lunch - so we stopped in Chappell Hill and ate at their local diner. If we were trying to go for that "Texas Cafe" feel, this place couldn't have been more perfect.

Coca-Cola signs on the walls, the sweetest sweet tea you've ever had, friendly staff that knew everyones name, truck after truck parked out front and FAN-TASTIC chicken fried steaks.

Okay, lets get back to Bluebell.  Have you ever seen this many flavors in one place?
YUMMY!

Drake even got a shirt that said
"I get cranky when I don't get my Bluebell Icecream!"

You got one free scoop with your tour and I picked an old classic, Mint Chocolate Chip.  Tammy and Drake had Cotton Candy, Dad had Mocha Almond Fudge and Chrissy had a delightful Caramel Kettle Crunch.  I picked up 4 new ice cream bowls - made in the USA by the Bluebell folks themselves and I'm so excited to show them to Jason - I'm sure he's just going to LOVE having 4 more bowls in the cupboards :)
After icecream we headed home and stopped by the park on the way.

Drake, Chris and Grandpa Beez played on the slides...

Dad sported his new fleece...

...and Drake ran alongside the freshly bloomed Bluebonnets.

All-in-all, it was a wonderful day.  Wish you were here with us :)

We're off to Brenham today to take a tour of the Bluebell Ice Cream factory,
but here's a little picture from our already sweet morning.

Yes, you can play it over and over.

I'm off to LA today for the rest of the week, then making a pit stop in Orange County to see Papa... but before I go, I wanted to post this little piece of heaven.

Tam, hope you don't mind but I love this and want to have it available at my beck and call while I'm on the road.

My insatiable nephew, Drake:

I hope this turns into one of his favorite words as a future Aggie!

xoxo, cyndy
